Monuments you need to see in Nevers
The Ducal Palace, reputed to be one of the first castles of the Loire, was the residence of the counts and then the dukes of the Nivernais. Built at the end of the 15th century, it now houses the town's exhibition and reception areas, the town council chamber and an astonishing aquarium of fish from the Loire. Near the Ducal Palace, stands the Italian Theatre in the neo-renaissance style built in the 19th century.
The Cathedral of Saint-Cyr Sainte-Julitte, located in Rue du Cloître Saint Cyr, has the particularity of having two opposite choirs; one Romanesque, the other Gothic, resulting from the juxtaposition of successive buildings. Another feature of the cathedral is that it has contemporary stained glass windows by various artists. The cathedral has a baptistery dating back to the 6th century. The tower of the cathedral, called the Boyer Tower, overlooks the city.

The church of Saint-Etienne, located in rue Saint Etienne, is a perfect example of Romanesque architecture.
